we went to dinner in mumbai at a rooftop hookah bar restaurant. getting a table required some serious shmoozing by kristen. she was able to charm the maitre de into getting us a dinner table with no wait, and later a couple of comfy couches and some shisha (apple and rose). he even sat down with us for about ten minutes and graced us with some of his tried and true service-industry gems, ("always you must be smiling")





dinner at koyla was mediocre, which is to say it was still more awesome than any indian food y'all are eating



this guy was our boy, he just basically hung out near us and made sure the coals were fresh--he also kept testing the smoke action for us. we tipped him 200 rupees. i think he fell in love.
